Our Covenant of Marriage
The twentieth day of December, in the year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Eight
As God the Father gives us life, so long as the Holy Spirit guides His church, and while Christ tarries on His soon return, we covenant together to live in Holy Matrimony.
We will strive to always place God first and each other as second in our lives.
We will not let anyone become a wedge between us or pull us away from our commitment to each other.
We will seek to minister to the needs of one another, putting the needs of our partner ahead of our own desires.
Together we will strive to form a household where Christ is exalted.
If the Lord sees fit to answer our prayers and bless us with children, we will teach them to follow Christ from an early age.
We will be students of each other, learning continually how to serve and treasure each other.
We will seek opportunities to minister to others as a couple.
We will support each other when God grants either partner the opportunity to minister.
We will order our household such that our commitment to God comes first, to each other second, our household third, our ministry fourth and finally other opportunities that may arise.
We will seek to have daily, meaningful communication and to resolve difficulties before they become a hindrance to our relationship.
